Why You Should Get Involved on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

The best way to really feel part of your campus’ community is by getting involved on campus! Getting involved on campus can mean different things. It can be joining a club, a work study on campus, your dorm’s hall council, or joining your school’s Her Campus chapter (shameless plug). If you’re not sure if you want to or why you should, check out some of the following reasons!

1) Joining a club can mean meeting new people

You can meet people who are not in your classes or even in the same major, but also have similar interests!

2) Participating in something you care about/ enjoy

You may not have time in college for everything you love to do but being part of a club can help you make time for something!

3) Discover a new passion

When your friend invites you to a club meeting, it doesn’t hurt to go! You may find out you love crafting at craft club! You might discover you love writing at creative writing club or with Her Campus!

4) Make a difference in your college community

If you want to make a difference on your college campus, getting involved is a fantastic way! Try out your student government to help make campus life a little easier for everyone. Join your dorm’s hall council to help plan fun events and confront issues in the dorm. If your college has a community service club you can help out in your college town as well as your campus!
