We Would Give a Gold Medal to These Ice Skating Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Sequins, glitter, rhinestones, oh my! You know what that means? The Olympics have officially begun! Ice Skating is one of the most highly anticipated events in the Winter Olympics. Many think just a flawless routine will get them gold, but they also need a killer outfit to complete their performance. Here are some of the top figure skaters that we would give a gold medal to based solely on their ice skating costumes!

1. Mirai Nagasu

Team USA never looked better with Mirai Nagasu competing on their behalf. Nagasu selected a classic figure skater look for her routine. My favorite aspect of her outfit is the high collar.

2. Kaetlyn Osmond

Kaetlyn Osmond shines for Canada in a sophisticated black number. The addition of a neck scarf was a unique element that other opponents lacked.

3. Alina Zagitova

Zagitova represented Russia in her ruby red ballerina inspired ensemble. The long gloves and mini tutu are the epitome of elegance.

4. Maé-Bérénice Méité

Maé-Bérénice Méité of France stood out amongst the other skaters in a sleek one-piece costume. She stunned the crowd with her choice of pants instead of a skirt.

5. Adam Rippon

From Team USA, Rippon showed off his moves in a mesh and leather top. The contrasting materials landed him a spot on this list.

6. Alex Shibutani and Maia Shibutani

The brother-sister duo from the USA danced away in dazzling frocks. Bright colors and flirty cut outs captured the audience’s attention.

7. Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue

Team Canada’s dramatic performance inspired their outfits. The dark colors and mesh inserts emphasized the brooding elements of their skate.
