The 2018 Oscars Musical Performers Have Been Announced & the Lineup is Amazing

The Academy Awards producers announced that this year’s five Oscar-nominated songs will be performed at the Oscars on March 4th, with the original singers reprising their roles on stage, Harper’s Bazaar reports.

According to The New York Times, the performers include Mary J. Blige, Gael García Bernal, Sufjan Stevens and Common.

“We’re excited to have these talented artists showcase the powerful contribution music makes to filmmaking,” the show’s producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd said in a statement.

Mary J. Blige will be performing her soulful track, “Mighty River,” from “Mudbound,” Harper’s Bazaar reports. According to The Times, Blige is also nominated for best actress in a supporting role for the film, and is the first person to ever be nominated for an acting role and an award for best original song in the same year.

According to USA Today, Keala Settle will be singing the hit song “This is Me” from “The Greatest Showman.”

Common and Andra Day will team up to sing “Stand Up for Something” from the Thurgood Marshall bio-pic “Marshall,” Harper’s Bazaar reports.

Sufjan Stevens will be will make his Oscars debut, according to The Times, performing “Mystery of Love” which was featured in Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me by Your Name.” Stevens told Vanity Fair during an interview about his nomination, “I have a dirty little secret: I’ve never watched the Oscars.”

Gael Garcia Bernal will be joined by singers Natalia LaFourcade and Miguel to sing the song “Remember Me” from Disney Pixar’s “Coco,” The Times reports.

The Oscars, which will be hosted again this year by Jimmy Kimmel, will air on ABC March 4th. Can’t wait to hear all of these amazing songs!
