5 Tips for a Successful Spring Break

Spring break is right around the corner. I can almost feel my feet in the sand and the sun on my skin, and I’m sure you can, too. Spring break is a welcome pause to our otherwise hectic lives as college students; whether you’re going home to spend some quality time with your family or road tripping with your best friends, you should keep these five spring break essentials in mind.

1. Avoid Tanning Beds

I know it’s tempting to hit the tanning bed a few times before you hit the beach. You want a nice base tan before laying out in the sun because who wants to wear a bathing suit when their legs are the color of Casper the Friendly Ghost? I get it, but, in all honesty, tanning beds are skin cancer waiting to happen. Try L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes instead. They’ll give you a sun-kissed look without running the risk of burning your skin, or worse.

2. Do NOT Get A Sunburn

Take it from a redhead, a sunburn is the best way to ruin a perfectly good vacation. They’re painful and annoying, and if yours is bad enough, you can get really sick. Always apply sunscreen. Hawaiian Green Tea Sunscreen by Alba Botanica® is the perfect choice; It is moisturizing, non-greasy, long lasting and water resistant (not to mention it smells amazing). Hawaiian Green Tea Sunscreen takes about two seconds to apply, and you’ll thank yourself when you see the unlucky girl whose skin is the same color as her red hair.

3. Your Sunglasses Will Break – Be Ready.

Ever hear of Murphy’s Law? Well, the Sunglass Law is similar: if sunglasses can break, they will break, especially if they’re your favorite ones. You have two options when this happens; freak out, or fix it. If you choose the right option, you’ll need glue. Luckily, Krazy Glue All Purpose Singles are small enough to fit in your purse and strong enough to fix pretty much anything.

4. Bring Hair Product

Growing up on the coast means that I have had my fair share of ocean hair, and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Both chlorinated pool water and salty ocean water will leave your hair feeling dry, frizzy and limp. That may be fine if you have time to shower and get done up before dinner, but who has that kind time? Keep Bed Head’s Superstar Queen for a Day Spray Thickening Spray and Get Twisted Anti-Frizz Finishing Spray in your beach bag, and I promise you’ll thank me later.

5. Be Ready For Anything

Spring Break is full of surprises. You never know what – or who – you may run into, so you may want to keep some lipstick and eyeshadow in your bag just in case. The Va-Va-Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick in Wine Me and Almay Shadow Squad™ Eyeshadow are the perfect choices. Not only does The Va-Va-Plump Liquid Lipstick give you a nice red lip color, but it also gives you fuller, plumper lips, and the shadow is long lasting and looks completely natural, making both ideal for wearing just about anywhere.
