Just like the soundtracks of the previous two movies of the trilogy, the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack is incredible! The soundtrack has 22 songs in total and here is what I think and how I feel about a few of my favorites and a few I was hoping for more from:
Ā
Track 1- Ā āCapital Lettersā by Hailee Steinfeld & BloodPop
Favorite lyrics:
For worse or for better,
Gonna give it to you
In capital letters
The chorus of āCapital Lettersā is extremely catchy, and thatās what initially drew me to the song. However, beyond that, the song doesn’t really make me feel anything. The only reason I do enjoy listening to it is because Hailee Steinfeld’s voice can make anything sound amazing!
Ā
Track 2- āFor Youā by Liam Payne & Rita Ora
Favorite lyrics:
Been waiting for a lifetime for you,
Been breaking for a lifetime for you,
Wasn’t looking for love ātil I found you
With Rita Oraās superb acting in the movie, and then this song, I don’t think thereās anything to complain about in reference to her. The only critique I have of this song is that Liam Payneās voice – which could’ve only improved the song – wasn’t featured enough.
Ā
Track 4- āHighā by Whethan & Dua Lipa
Favorite lyrics:
Keep my head under the water
Pride buried in my chest
Not counting all the minutes, the seconds, not holdinā my breath
Iām having a major Dua Lipa phase right now, however, this song was quite a let down. It is nice to listen to maybe a couple of times, but without any deeper meaning to the song or even lyrics which resonate to me a little, itās hard to enjoy listening to it a lot.
Ā
Track 5- Ā āHeavenā by Julia Michaels Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
Favorite lyrics:
No need to imagine cause Iāll know itās true
They say all good boys go to heaven
But bad boys bring heaven to you
Itās automatic, itās just what they do
They say all good boys go to heaven
But bad boys bring heaven to you
This song is very typical of what Iād expect from a Fifty Shades movie. Itās extremely catchy and I love listening and singing along to it. Again, itās not exactly a song that would make you feel something deep, but itās a great song in general terms, and goes really well with the whole Fifty Shades vibe.
Ā
Track 15- āDeer In Headlightsā by Sia
Favorite lyrics:
Standing at the crossroads
Thereās no right answer
No oneās brain to pick
Under the spy
Thereās no escaping
Iām a deer caught in headlights
This was by far my favorite song on the soundtrack. The first time listening to it I had chills. Siaās voice adds the perfect, soothing tone, for the song, and itās a must to listen to it!
This soundtrack was incredible, and Fifty Shades Freed definitely lived upto the expectations set by the previous two movies. If you havenāt seen the movies or heard the songs, go check them out!
