Women are speaking out, we are demanding to be heard, we support each other, and inspire each other to rise up. There are so many women out there today and in history who refused to be silent, who stood up for themselves, and who have the power to throw out some major inspiration. This Women’s History Month, take a minute to learn their stories, and be amazed at what you learn. Here are just five books that can introduce you to these women.

1. Bad Girls Throughout History: A 100 Remarkable Women Who Changed the World

Inspiring stories paired with bold watercolor portraits, Bad Girls Throughout History is a treat for any feminist. Ann Shen goes all the way to the very beginning of time and tells the story of girls who just refused to behave in a way that simply inspires you to raise a little hell.

We’ve all heard the phrase “well-behaved women seldom make history” and these rejected princesses took that to heart. From the moment, I picked up this book I was fascinated by the stories of women from long ago that I never learned about until now. And while these women rebelled long ago, they can certainly inspire a 21st century hellion.

3. In the Company of Women

4. 200 Women Who Will Change the Way You See the World

This is my senior year of college and I'm a Public Relations major with a Creative Writing outside concentration. I was born and raised in So-Cal and love it so much I couldn't go too far. As much as South California is my home, I adore traveling and learning about other cultures. A Disney fan to the core you can find me watching any of their movies, or breaking my bank account at Disneyland, and if not I'll probably be reading, writing, or enjoying the Malibu climate.
