Last Saturday, February 24, 2018, was the most fun night ever! I went to see the K-Pop group 24K live on stage! Studio PAV, a promoter, and producer for Kpop events was in charge of the 24k World Tour. They were also the ones who bought 24k to Puerto Rico. The concert took place at Teatro Francisco Arrivi in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It was my first time going to that venue, and I was really surprised by how big and comfortable the inside was. It had a lot of room, and even though I was on the second floor, I had the best view ever because I wasn’t too far from the stage itself. The sound was amazing, yet, sadly, a lot of sound problems occurred during the middle of the concert, but we’ll touch that topic later on.

The group has a mix of EDM, Hip Hop and some hard-hitting beats, which is my favorite style for music. It’s the first time I’ve seen them live; I’ve followed their career since a year and a half ago–back when I was starting to get into K-Pop, and I couldn’t have been more excited to be able to see them in person.

The setlist for the 24K concert was:

  1. Intro + BINGO

  2. Introduction of the group

  3. Hey You

  4. Been you

  5. Still 24K (My favorite song!)

  6. Only you [The members were using animal onesies!]
  7. Honestly (This part was beautiful, the 24UU fan base here in Puerto Rico gave out some banners to lift them up when the group started to sing this)

  8. Q & A (Incomplete)

  9. Oasis

  10. Run

  11. Only you

  12. Heart attack (Trey Songz cover) performed by Kisu, Jin Hong & Cory

  13. Talk performed by Jeonguk & Cory

  14. Domino & Look at me (Acapella) by Jeonguk

  15. Something just like this – (Chainsmokers ft. Coldplay) by Chang sub & Hongseob (This was a dance performance)

  16. I am the best (2NE1) dance performance by Jeonguk

  17. It’s Heaven

  18. Super Fly

  19. BINGO Remix (Encore)

Before the concert started, 24K had a small “fansign” and photo ops with fans. Those who bought VVIP would be able to get their own album autographed by each member with the fans name on it, plus be able to give them a little gift. Both VVIP and VIP had the chance to take professional group photos with the members. Unfortunately, some difficulties occurred during the middle of the concert. While Kisu, Cory, and Jinhong were doing their cover, the theater was having a sound system problem and some of the microphones stopped working; the sound kept going on and off. After that, the concert was interrupted to see if the system could be fixed.

In the meantime, Cory and Jeonguk gave a surprise to the fans when they came out to the stage to give us a little Q&A section, which was really fun. We waited around 5 minutes or so before they were given a thumbs up to continue. But, again, the performance started and you couldn’t hear the boys. They told us that if this continued, they had to stop the concert. It was shocking and sad for all of us, but the good news was that they fixed the sound a little to at least be able to finish the concert.

The interaction during mayhem between the group and the audience was beautiful. You could notice how comfortable the boys felt with the audience to the point that Cory and Jeonguk walked down the stage to ask questions while we waited for the sound system to get fixed.

(Photo credit to Zennki Ji Hoon)

Thanks to these difficulties we were able to learn a lot from them. For example, we learned that Jeonguk didn’t listen to his mom when she told him not to get any more tattoos and each time he would get more in trouble with his family… haha! Oh, Jeonguk. And, yes we know. You’re an idol! We got it!

“It was definitely the best experience ever, I loved it so, so much. And, thanks to everything that happened (talking about the technical difficulties), I have 100% confirmed by Jeong Uk himself that he’s an idol.”

– Sabrina Méndez

“If the technical difficulties wouldn’t have happened, I wouldn’t have known that Jeonguk gets his butt whooped for every tattoo he gets!”

– Genesis Cortes

Overall, the show was amazing, 24K showed so much professionalism when the sound system difficulties were happening. They went out to the stage to apologize, and the fans started to shout “It’s ok” in Korean, which was such a beautiful moment. I’m happy I was able to be part of. This is my second experience going to a kpop concert, and I can tell you it was the best. The fans screamed, dance, shouted and gave so much love to the group from the beginning to the end!

Isabel D. Nieves says: “Even though I was general, I felt like I was VVIP.”

Yamal Latimer says “Thanks to all those technical difficulties I had one of the best nights of my life, got to know the boys better and would not have it any other way.”

And let’s be honest, this one pretty much sums up how we felt at the end of the concert:

“Mi alma voló tramboliko.”

Dear, 24K, everything is ok! We love you so much, we appreciate everything you did for us from beginning to end, and we are so proud of each and every one of you. Remember that. I hope Puerto Rico will see you again soon!

Also… Stay Tuned. Studio PAV will be announcing a new Kpop tour soon.
