Sexual Assault Awareness Month at DU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DU chapter.
Content warning: sexual assault + rape

It’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), DU students! So, in the spirit of supporting survivors and raising awareness of this issue, I would like to take the time to talk about the resources here on campus for students who are survivors of sexual assault. But first what is sexual assault? According to RAINN.org, “sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim.” This is a pretty good definition covering the ranges of assault from cat-calling to rape.

I also think a really good example of determining when someone is no longer consenting to your behavior or contact is the tea video (see above). If you are a victim of this horrible issue here are some resources on campus.
