A Letter To My 10 Page Paper

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

It is officially the last month of the semester.  In other words, the most stressful time in a college student’s academic year.  You may have a project or three due soon so while you take a break from writing enjoy this “Letter to my 10 page paper”.

In this mock letter a college student shares how she really feels about taking on a research report.

Dear 10 page paper,

Hey there big guy.  How do you feel knowing that you’re due in the morning?  Well I’ll tell you how I feel.  Stressed and nervous!  Stressed because you’re still not a full 10 pages yet and nervous because I’m running out of time.  We’ve grown to know each other very well over these last few days.  I mean we basically spend all our time together now and tonight is no exception.  We’re in the library once again because apparently, I need one more credible book source to use for you.

You always make yourself the center of attention and I hate to say it, but you can be a little needy.  All of your sources have to come from academic journals even when I feel like Wikipedia is good enough.  You have to be in exact MLA format with precisely one inch margins and 12 point font.  And I know how you feel about typos, so I’ve checked you over and over to remove even the slightest error.

Even though you may stress me out to the max I can’t complain that much.  You’re not too bad overall.  I mean I do learn a lot from you.  Plus, your thesis statement is pretty great I can’t lie.  When our late nights come to an end I do feel a sense of accomplishment from completing you.  So, thanks for keeping me on my toes and forcing me to work under pressure.  I don’t know where my GPA would be without you.

Sincerely,

Stressed College Student.

As the semester quickly comes to an end try not to let the stresses of academics bring you down.  Keep up the good work Collegiettes and finish this year strong.
