Meghan Markle Takes ~Secret~ Trip to Chicago Before Wedding

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

It is officially about a month until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding day! In preparation for the big day, Meghan took a ~secret~ trip to Chicago. It was later revealed that the meaning behind this trip was to settle her visa application for a U.K. visa.

Meghan has to obtain her citizenship and pass a test on British culture and history to remain in the U.K. for the rest of her life. There are a variety of questions that she may be asked such as, “What is the capital city of the United Kingdom?” “When do British citizens celebrate Boxing Day?”, and “Which of Henry VIII’s wives was executed at the Tower of London?”

Meghan paid approximately $1,500 for premium processing on her application, according to TMZ. It is most probable that Markle applied for a family visa, which necessitates her having to marry someone within six months of her landing in the United Kingdom. This time frame aligns perfectly with her wedding date, which is about a month away.

Everyone is super excited for the wedding and counting down the days until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot!
