Things To Do To Boost Your Mood On A Rainy Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

Now that spring is here, so is rainy and sad weather. It is so easy to want to stay inside all day and do nothing, but try your hardest to be productive and do something on your rainy day. Below are a few of my favorite things to do on a rainy day!

1. Have a “Me Day”

Take time for yourself the next rainy day you get! Do a facemask, take a bath, do your nails! Today is the day to do anything that you want for yourself! Since it is rainy outside, create a nice and relaxing oasis for yourself in the comfort of your home.

2. Have a movie/TV marathon

Rainy days are the perfect time to catch up on some movies you want to see, or to watch an entire season of a TV show on Netflix! Whatever type of entertainment you prefer, use your rainy day to relax and catch up on whatever show/movie you choose!

3. Do an at-home workout

Maybe you don’t have the energy to go outside and drive to the gym, but you can always do an at-home workout! If you have a treadmill and weights at home, great for you! If not, look up workout videos on YouTube or workout plans on Pinterest for some equipment free workouts.

4. Make a cup of coffee

Try making a cup of coffee, or tea on the next rainy day you have and take time to stare outside at the rain. Try journaling or writing down what you are grateful for that day. While the rain might make you sad, reminding yourself of what you are grateful for can help to boost your mood!

5. Try organizing your life and getting ahead on work

If you’re in college, you totally understand that April is a huge month! Try organizing your planner and getting ahead on work that needs to be done! You will thank yourself!

Hope that you have a lovely rainy day!
