Finals season is among us, and with it comes the struggle to find an open study space on campus. Luckily for you, we found 8 of the best study spots at UNC!

Davis or the Undergraduate Library (UL). The most obvious options for studying are the two main libraries on campus. Davis has a huge base floor with tables for group work and studying or other floors higher up where it is silent. The UL doesn’t have noise restrictions on any floor and is open 24 hours.

The Student Stores. The Student Stores are the perfect study spot for a more lively atmosphere. You can sit in the seating area with comfortable chairs on the second floor or you can sit downstairs by the cafe. They also sell Starbucks coffee options and great bakery items.

The Union. The Union has various seating scattered throughout the building from the basement to the second floor. Plus there are treadmill desks on the lowest level, so you can move while you study. Alpine is also a great option for food when you are up late studying.

Panera. One of my favorite places to study is Panera on Franklin. Since it is not directly on campus, it not always as full as some of the libraries can be. They also have indoor and outdoor seating.

Starbucks. Starbucks on Franklin is another popular study spot for college students. It can get a little crowded, so I recommend ordering online and finding a table right when you get there so you don’t have to wait in line.

Empty classrooms. When every single table on campus seems to be filled and you desperately need to study, you can always try to find an empty classroom. This is a great option for big study groups or class review sessions. Just make sure there’s not an exam in the room you choose!

FedEx Global Education Center. The Global Center is not as popular as other places but it is still a super cool study space. They have comfortable chairs that face the window and offer a great view that almost makes you forget that you are inside studying!

Carolina Inn. The Carolina Inn is a popular study space for students when the weather warms up. Students will sit outside or even grab a bite to eat Crossroads.
