If you have already known the duality of the “Maralto” and the “Continent” closely, the time has come to delve into these two worlds again. The second season of the Brazilian series 3% premiered on Netflix and accomplished its basic promise to expand the universe of the series. This article will bring important points about it, so that the public can think and have their own decisions and opinions about the story.

Between luxury and poverty, the first season shows, almost in a unique way, the stages of the unfair ‘’Process’’ for those who want to achieve a better life. The new season focuses on showing all the dimensions of the two environments, exploring the causes and consequences of each one. Here are some important things for you to pay attention when watching it:

#1 Almost flawless graphic design

If compared to the first season, there is a much greater investment in scenarios, costumes and special effects. Criticized for this reason, the series reinvents itself, using the resources to give life and highlight the plot. It creates an obvious and necessary contrast between the dirty scenarios of the precarious Continent and the limpidness of the utopian and paradisiacal Maralto.

#2 The element of surprise

The season begins a week before “Process 105”, almost a year after the first season. From there, the story unfolds, making intense use of flashbacks. With each episode, the characters and situations are changing, and make the series more and more dynamic. The true stories and realities about the Maralto and the Continent are being unraveled little by little, bringing the sense of surprise and impact to each new fact. The plot isn’t, at any moment, obvious.

#3 There are no villains

Unlike the first season, in which there are well-defined villains and good guys, in the second, all the characters are good or bad at some point. These are confusions in ethical and moral issues, since we have difficulty in knowing if the characters are being truthful or not.   Relationships are engaging, the series manages to trap viewers by the ambitions of their characters and everything that joins one another.

Another important point of the characters is the performance, which although they still have many negative points, show a concern and improvement. Even those who, in the first year, were superficial and with well-crafted dialogues, bring to this new history a depth that captivates the public. The performances improve, too, and mainly, due to the evolution of its characters.

#4 Simultaneity of differences

An interesting point of the plot is how the stories that happens in the Maralto relate, simultaneously and oppositely, to those that are happening in the Continent. In almost every episode tensions are shown happenings in both environments at the same time.

The series shows that the journey of the characters is one of the main points of the plot, rather than the premises of a possible destruction of the Process. Even with heavy dialogues and forced speech, the evolution of this and other problems is undeniable. The creator Pedro Aguilera seems to have listened rigorously to criticism, and, with a much more dense and complex history, leaves the public with the imminent will of a third season.
