Have you ever dated a chameleon? No? Let me elaborate… Being a chameleon is not a bad thing, however, if you are in a relationship with someone who says that he will conquer the world for you in private but acts like a complete d*ck around his friends, it becomes a problem. If you haven’t seen this phenomenon yet, you will. I promise it is normal for a guy to act differently around his guy friends or other males, it just sometimes guys feel the need to go full-on bro mode or assert their d*ck dominance. Of course, there are some things that are “understandable” for a guy to do in those situations but also, some that will make you grab a bat and reenact Beyoncé’s Hold Up music video. Here are some things that you might need a bat for:
1. He presents himself as he has dominance over you.
2. He distances himself from you.
3. He shows no regard for women and/or talks and acts as he is single.
4. He doesn’t show ANY affection towards you.
5. He doesn’t put your comfort first.
Moral of the story: Do not let anyone walk all over you, be it a man or a woman. If anyone is mistreating you, you should never think it is okay. Relationships are hard thus, it takes a lot of communication and compromises. Understanding why guys behave the way they do makes it easier to not take it personally but if it makes you uncomfortable, talk to them.
