After New York Fashion Week, Floral Hairstyles Are My Mood for the Rest of 2018

Even though we’re nearing the end of one of the most fashion-filled weeks of the year, the lasting impression from runway shows by Rodarte and Mansur Gavriel at New York Fashion Week 2018 will have you running to the nearest flower shops to recreate some of the hairstyles seen on models. Now, we all know that flower crowns have been the go-to tress accessory for outfits during festival season, Halloween and more – but this new hair debut is just so pretty you’ll want to wear buds and petals in your locks every day.

Italian design label Mansur Gavriel debuted subtle and delicate flower-laced hairstyles on all models as a compliment to the gorgeous apparel for the show. In an interview with Byrdie, the global fashion director of Bumble and Bumble,  Laurent Philippon, described exactly how to get this effortless hairstyle: simply use a hair primer (only $25) and eyelash glue to weave flowers throughout strands of hair and make sure they stay in place.

American brand Rodarte opted for a more intricate and bold look, with hairstyles almost being the focal point ahead of the clothing designs. For weaving this heavier look, hairspray and mousse will help create the large, sculpture-like pieces and keep them locked in.

Even though fall is here and everyone is practically bathing in pumpkin spice, that doesn’t mean we can’t wear spring-like hairstyles that leave us feeling like a particular Disney princess. Ahem:

The best part of these floral hairstyles is that they can be pretty easily created using products you probably already have in your bathroom – it will simply take a lot of patience and arm strength to craft the perfect floral ‘do. But hey, whether you’re looking to add a colorful addition to your everyday campus look or you’re already prepping Halloween costume ideas, this floral-filled hair is a MUST for the rest of 2018.
