The Internet is MAD About This Song Being Taken Down

By Shelynn Handy

Jacquees is a singer known for doing remixes to popular songs and pushing them out quickly and calling them “Quemixes”. He’s done it with Persian Rugs by PartyNextDoor, Drunk Texting by Chris Brown, and most recently Trip by Ella Mai. Usually these mixes go out with no problems, but four days after the mix was released it was pulled from YouTube and Soundcloud.

The internet being the internet jumped to their own conclusions about why the music was taken down and started to place all of the blame on the artist of the original song, Ella Mai. The internet attacked Ella Mai saying that she asked to have the song and music video removed because the remix was gaining more popularity than the original.

However, this is far from the truth. Recent news shows the producer of the song, DJ Mustard, coming forward to say that him and his label sent a cease and desist to Jacquees about the remix. Mustard claims Jacquees was earning money from the remix and he won’t allow people to steal money from his and his team. It seems like everyone is tripping.
