The BTS Citi Field Concert is This Week and I Can’t Handle It.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

So the BTS Citi Field concert is this week and I literally can’t handle it. On October 6th, I will be alongside 40,000 ARMIES (fans of BTS) as we all chant and scream for our lives: “KIM NAMJOON, KIM SEOKJIN, MIN YOONGI, JUNG HOSEOK, PARK JIMIN, KIM TAEHYUNG, JUN JUNGKOOK. BTS!!!”

Honestly I’m still shook that my friend and I were able to get tickets. We’re going to be able to breathe the same air as BTS? Are we even worthy? (No) I mean, these boys freaking gave a speech at the United Nations last week…

They’re worldwide influencers now! I’m so proud of them and can’t wait to see them in real life. So as I prepare myself for the waterfall of tears that will come this Saturday night, I wanted to remind myself of why I became an ARMY in the first place.

With that, here are eight reasons (in no order) why I became a fan of BTS:

  1. Their music

Check out IDOL:

  1. Their dedication

These boys are so hardworking and dedicated to putting on their absolute best performance for us ARMIES. Even when they’re not rehearsing, they’re composing and producing new music.

  1. Their talent

Yea, there’s no question here. They’re amazing.

  1. Being unafraid to be themselves

Ughh I love J-hope’s love for “hambooger n  sprite” and RM being highkey annoyed at everyone LOL.

  1. Style icons

They looked so good in their suits on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last week.

  1. Their humility

Why am I crying.

  1. Their love for each other

They have so much love and pride in their group. It’s apparent through the way they interact with one another during performances, breaks, and even during fights. Suga’s poem on ‘Run BTS!’ made me highkey tear up:

  1. Their love for their fans

Every time they win an award or even receive a compliment, it always comes back to us ARMIES. Thank you BTS for loving us even though we’re so clingy and annoying!
