All The Fall Accessories You Need This Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

When it comes to planning outfits, accessories can often be overlooked. Many people may not realize it, but now that it’s fall, accessories are fun to experiment with and can make all the difference when trying to step up your style game. You should also never have to sacrifice a cute outfit over cold weather. Here are my suggestions on how to add some fall accessories to your outfits and spice up your style this season!

Scarves

Trying to stay warm and still look cute can be a struggle sometimes. A knit scarf can help you achieve the ultimate fall outfit all while keeping you warm. Blanket scarves are really popular right now. You can wear them as a shawl, tucked into your jacket, wrapped around your neck in many different styles or just resting on your shoulders. Other styles include infinity scarves and tie scarves! A common favorite fall look is plaid scarves, but if you prefer solid colors, try looking for ones in brown, orange or dark red.

Hats

A trendy hat can make your fall outfit go from basic to bold. It’s the perfect accessory for a day at a pumpkin patch or corn maze. A floppy brimmed hat can make your outfit very witch-inspired to get you in the spirit of Halloween! Berets and cabby hats are making their comeback for autumn. Fall hats are really fun to play around with in terms of style. You can wear a classic black that works year round or a dark burgundy if you want to go full-on fall!

Purses

I don’t know about you, but I’m always wanting to buy a purse to match every new outfit I get. Now is the perfect time to cave in and add a new one to your collection that’s fall themed. You can wear these out to Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland or any other fall festivities you plan on going to this month!

Jewelry

It’s the season of chunky rings and layered necklaces. Everything gold and earthy is acceptable to rock, from statement earrings to long necklaces. Jewelry can spice up the old black sweater in your closet that sometimes feels plain or boring. Adding some jewelry to a simple outfit can really dress it up, whether you’re going to work, hanging out with friends or attending a fall dinner party.

Socks & Tights

Keep your legs warm with some knee high socks or stockings, especially when you still aren’t ready to give up skirts and dresses as the temperature lowers. Both look great with a pair of fall boots or low styled shoes like flats, mules or Mary Janes. The possibilities are endless when it comes to patterns and styles. There’s the trusty classic black, or there’s glitter mesh, stars, polka dots, frills and every color you can think of!
