Now that October has begun fall is officially in full swing! For some of us it can be hard to say goodbye to the long Summer days and anticipate the cold winter ahead, but don’t let the beautiful fall season slip past you as you remain in denial. Get into the complete fall spirit with the following snazzy ideas:

1. Set up the Vibes

Let’s be real, we all know that it’s all about the aesthetics and vibes. Pick up a fall candle, grab some room spray, decorate with pumpkins and plaid, start some DIY projects, and update your wall calendar with spooky drawings.

We love the candles and room sprays at Bath and Body works, but if you are on a budget you can find cheap alternatives at TJ Maxx or Home Goods. If both of those options are a no go then setting up a giant pot on the stove and throwing in orange peels, apple slices, and cinnamon is always a natural way to get those beloved seasonal scents in.

Thinking you want to get in on some DIY projects but don’t know where to start? DIY’s range from easy, such as picking up acorns and putting them in a fancy dish, to slightly more difficult. No matter your experience level you will be able to find something. Our favorites? This DIY vanilla spice sugar scrub and this fall bucket list craft will serve you wonders to get you in the fall spirit.

2. Activities Time

Now that your vibes are on fall fleek it is time to get to the fun stuff. Take the time to make plans with friends to fit in some exciting activities! Bonfires are the best on cool October Nights, and adding smores and drinks into the mix will make it a full-on event. Also, since Halloween is creeping up around the corner, why not host a scary movie night featuring classical favorites – Halloweentown anyone?

Cute during the day activities include gathering with your girls and stealing apples and various fruit from the dining hall. Cut the smuggled fruit up and throw in a pitcher of white wine mixed with apple cider. Take your concoction outside on a cozy blanket with some apple cider donuts and you will be in heaven.

Let’s not forget some money may get you into even more fun! You can always take a drive up the scenic Mohawk Trail and stop by all the adorable pumpkin farms along the way. Trying a corn maze may be cliché but let’s be real, we all want to get lost in one at least once.

Connecticut also has an abundance of thrilling spooky activities going on this month. Some are definitely worth checking out! Do you think you have what it takes to make it to the end of the Trail of Terror? Put your friends and yourself through the ultimate test and try it out one weekend! It’s easy to get wrapped up with school work and deadlines, but make sure to take time to appreciate the moment along with this amazing month we are in! Getting into the fall spirit is the best thing you can do to ensure you make the most out of this quickly changing season. I mean come on, you live in New England after all. Embrace it!
