All of the Best Fall/Winter Trends From College Fashion Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

College fashion week gave us a look at the best of the best trends that we can expect to see on campus throughout the rest of the season. With looks from Primark, MATTER and the HCXO shop, students can shop affordably while still sporting the hottest trends like leather, big knits, paper bag pants and girl power tees. This year’s shows kept it real and taking inspiration from these looks will help you create the perfect outfit.

Modern Nomad Featuring Primark

The first show sponsored by Primark celebrated all things fall. The models rocked an array of plaid patterns, leather jackets, cozy knits and lots of warm tones. The looks were inspired by bohemian and vintage styles that are easy to recreate with your own pieces.

In this first look the model is wearing a corduroy zipper dress. The thick and warm material is perfect for fall, especially in this burnt orange color that will make you blend right into the leaves! The piece is accented with some cozy wide knits. This outfit is especially perfect for when it’s still a little hot out because the mini dress will keep you cool.

This second look is especially perfect for those bitter fall days. A cozy gray and striped sweater should be a staple in everyone’s closet this time of year. It works perfectly with the red leather jacket over top that brings in some fall color. The outfit is paired with a caramel brown purse and booties which blends perfectly with any warm toned outfit.

Printed Paradise featuring MATTER with Primark

The second show took minimalism to the next level. With inspiration from cultural designs and patterns, the models strutted down the runway in simple blacks and white with pops of color. A big trend throughout the show was making pants the staple piece of an outfit with a bright colored accessory. Because a lot of the pieces in these outfits were basics, you’re not going to blow your wallet, unless you choose to invest in a groovy pair of pants!

Paper bag pants are totally in this season! Not only are they pretty cozy, but they give a professional touch to any outfit. The high waisted fit is super flattering, especially with heels to give you extra length. Paired with a simple crew neck white tee, the bold triangle pattern gives dimension without looking too busy.

This fit blends sophisticated minimalism with fun and color. The yellow jacket not only accents the geometric pattern in the pants, but it also gives life to this outfit without making it too busy. The yellow is definitely the highlight of the look. It’s bright, while still being a warm tone perfect for fall.

Power Pose Featuring the HCXO Shop, Ali and Ariel, Feminist Goods and Sleep Riot with Primark

This last show was all about girl power! These looks featured a ton of fun and empowering graphic tees, cozy and cute for a school day. These looks really grasped the message of embracing what makes you feel good, inspired and beautiful. Outfits like these are perfect for when you’re feeling empowered to take on the world, but maybe not in the mood for heels.

This look is super spunky! The gray, white, and black pull together a minimalist look, while the tie in the tee, sneakers, and backpack make it great for class. It’s the perfect Instagram-worthy ‘I look good but I didn’t have to try too hard’ type of look.

The pink base in this look brings home this feminist inspired piece. The heathered material tee matched with a cozy knit cardigan is a perfect look for an early morning class. The matte backpack gives a little bit of sophistication and obviously perfect for getting your study grind on.

All of these trends are perfect for women of any shape or size. Be sure to take the inspiration and make it your own with unique accessories and other additions that show your personal spunk all season long.
