Fall semester is upon us, along with the Halloween season. Here at Her Campus UPR we love the spooks and scares this month of October brings. To enjoy it to the fullest, here is a list of life-hacks and resources for different situations you may encounter that will help you survive the academic semester and the mysterious Halloween night.

1. Getting Ready for the Night

With or without a costume to rock through Halloween, Buxom’s Big Tease Plumping Mascara is a must. It does not fail to deliver maximum volume and it makes your eyelashes noticeably longer. This is perfect for you to look put together as you go on your daily scout for supplies during the zombie apocalypse. If you’re going to be killing zombies, you might as well look good as you do it. It will also look fantastic with whatever costume you decide to wear during All Hallows Eve. Great lashes go with everything!

You can complete your look for the day or the night with Katy Perry’s INDI Fragrance. This seductive and musk fragrance will have you smelling fresh through the day. Infused with s blend of white tea, Italian bergamot, and white cedarwood, you can carry it with you for emergency refreshing to have nature surround you like a nymph.

The fragrance might attract some ghouls, but on the bright side, you can practice your butt-kicking skills

2. Last-Minute Costume Ideas:

An unexpected party invitation or Halloween picture may throw you off if you do not have a costume at your disposal. Krazy Glue All-Purpose Singles is the perfect tool to create just about anything. Be it from gluing together a cardboard mask, kitty ears over an old diadem, or even help fix Halloween decorations, the options are limitless with Krazy Glue.

Kitty ears or any costume idea can be paired with L’Oreals Sublime Bronzer. This hydrating self-tanning milky lotion gives you that medium glow while also nurturing your skin with Vitamin E.

3. Last Minute Snack and Sauce On-The-Go:

Getting ready for the party can be time-consuming, and going out with an empty stomach may not be the best idea. Garden of Life has you covered with their Chocolate Sea Salt and the Maple Sea Salt GōL Bars. Each one is packed with up to 12g of protein, gluten-free, and made with organic ingredients. This healthy choice is a life-saver on the go, be it for parties, between class changes, or even when facing the end of the world.

Who doesn’t love a good hot sauce, especially to improve the snacks through the night? This perfect blend of flavor and heat is the key to making any type of food taste a lot better. Frank’s RedHot condiment seasoning is also ideal for you to sit down and sprinkle over anything as you take a break from running away from the ghosts and improve the taste of anything. It’s also the perfect condiment to add to any food you wish to cook for your Halloween party or any other upcoming event you might have.

4. Always Be Mindful of Safety!

A plus side of the Halloween season is all the parties and get-togethers, either with friends or strangers. Therefore, safety comes first! Make sure that amongst your essentials there is, at least, one of these, if not all of them:

The SABRE Red Drink Test Kit is the ideal companion when going out to any parties, especially the Halloween ones. If you are not sure if your drink is safe, simply use this kit that contains 5 pages with 2 tests per page to determine if your beverage has been tampered with. It is easy to store in a small bag or in your pockets while also guaranteeing that you have your most fun and carry on with that drink!

Going back home can be dangerous late at night, and for your quest, it is essential to carry on your Personal Alarm by SABRE. It is available with a Key Ring, as well as with Clip & LED Light, both offering maximum protection in the most discreet ways. Zombies, vampires or any other mythical creatures will run away with 120 dB alarms that are audible up to 600 feet (185 m) away, as well as the clip light to guide your way.

5. For when the Night Comes to an End

End the night with Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof, perfect for removing any makeup from the night and leaving your skin feeling fresh. If you were out all night and need to relax now for the next day, Bath and Body Work’s Wallflowers Fragrance Plug is the perfect alternative. The sweet and delicate Wallflower Lavender scent will relax your senses and ease you into sweet dreams.

You can also use the Skintimate 2-in-1 Shave Cream & Skin Conditioner. Great for shaving and also conditioning, it comes with a sweet and soothing Coconut Silk scent that will leave your skin smelling tropical. The Soy Protein and Shea Butter formula will also provide you with a healthy, moisturized finish to the spookiest night of the year.
