All The Tips and Tricks to Spooktacular Candy Shopping

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

Are you struggling to figure out the best types of Halloween candy, or the best places to get steals on your favourite treats? We at Her Campus at UVic have put our brains together and made a list of all that you need to know candy-wise this October 31st.

Best Types of Candy

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter anything

Whether it is peanut butter cups or Reese’s Pieces, unless you are allergic to nuts, this candy is definitely a fan favourite.

2. Hi-Chews

This is a bit of a less conventional Halloween candy, but the sweet and tangy chewy goodness in each bite has you craving more!

3. Wunderbars

This wonderful candy—no pun intended—is a classic spooky treat that takes you back to those nostalgic chilly evenings when you trick-or-treated with your best childhood pals.

4. Coffee Crisps

You may have loved this candy as a child, but you adore it now that you can fully appreciate its coffee flavour (especially during midterm season)!

5. Kit Kat

A classic chocolate treat that keeps you coming back for more!

Best Steals

Now that we have covered some of the best treats, here are some great places in Victoria to get the best prices!

1. Bulk Barn

Objectively, it was concluded among our team that Bulk Barn is the top place to get the variety of candy that you want this Halloween. It has great prices and endless amounts of sweets!

2. Oh Sugar

Although this may be more expensive than Bulk Barn, this candy shop on LoJo is super trendy and has a quaint atmosphere. It also has some unique international candies that will make your party extra fun.

3. Sweet Delights

This Oak Bay treasure reminds you of your favourite childhood candy store. Filled with classic, quirky, and international candies, you will not be disappointed making a trip to this candy shop.

There you have it: some of the great candy gems of Victoria. Have a happy, spooky Halloween!
