$10 or Less: Activities to do Every Day of the Week

Living in Windsor comes with the stigma of having nothing to do in the city without spending big bucks. Being a broke University student limits my options even more because I’m spending most of my money on textbooks and food. After a little bit of research and some help from my friends, I found some super cheap and fun options for any night of the week, any day of the year!!

Sunday

Jazz at Phog Lounge- by donation (suggested $5)

Phog Lounge aims to connect musicians, students, filmmakers, writers, and business owners. Winning CJAM Radio Jammy Award for Best Music Venue in Windsor in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. On Sunday nights enjoy live jazz and microbrewery beer. The cover is by donation but suggested $5.

B.V’s House of Pong-all you can play for $5

Tuesday

Zap Zone- $4 Tuesdays

Glow Golf and Laser Tag for $4 on Tuesdays. Glow golf is 18 holes of mini golf under black light. Laser tag’s objective is to deactivate the opposing team’s bases. You’re allowed up to 40 players and three teams!

Revs Rose Bowl- $10/person for 4 games (included shoes) after 9pm

Whether you’re scoring 150 per game or taking all granny shots bowling is a blast. Cosmic bowl includes top 40 ’s music with black lights and a laser show!

Art Gallery of Windsor- $5 with valid student ID

Enjoy 15,000 square feet of art and a beautiful view of the riverfront. With almost 4,000 works of art, there is something for everyone.

Friday

University Players- students $8 Fridays 8pm

Currently performing ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, the University Players is offered by The School of Dramatic Arts and is composed completely of University of Windsor students. Students can get a ‘friend card’ for $30 that allows you to see six plays (that’s $5/play!) They offer six plays per year. The next show is ‘Journey’s End’ playing November 23rd – December 2nd.

Saturday

Public Skating-  $3.50

Grab your skates and some friends and enjoy a couple hours on the ice. These indoor public skates are open to skaters of all levels! Saturday skates are available at Capri Arena and the WFCU arena.
