Advice You Should Take From The Stranger Things Characters This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

Wondering what college would be like for the characters of Stranger Things? Hint: It definitely feels like being in the Upside Down! Here is some advice from your favorite characters of the hit Netflix show to get you through the rest of this semester.

Eleven

Breakfast: waffles, Lunch: waffles, Dinner: more waffles! As tempting as it is to eat healthy and go to the gym (well, not really) let’s be realistic, we just don’t have the time during the semester. However, just be conscious as to not let your Freshman 15 “diet” come back to haunt you.

Mike

Mike never gave up on Eleven and neither should you when it comes to your grades, especially during midterms. Study in short periods of time each day rather than cramming your work in at the last minute. The light at the end of the tunnel is near folks, just keep pushing!

Dustin

In need of a study break? Grab a cup of coffee with that one friend of yours who always knows how to crack a joke and put a smile on your face. After all, you two are most likely in the same boat together!

Lucas

“Friends don’t lie.” Too bogged down with deadlines to go out on a Friday night? Just be honest, your friends and family will understand that being a student comes with great responsibility.

Will

Deciding to skip class today? Think again! You certainly do not want to be stuck in the “Upside Down” of what the hell is going on next time class is in session. After all, 90% of success is just showing up.

Max

Not all people are social butterflies but joining clubs and organizations of your interest on campus is certainly an opportunity you do not want to miss out on. You never know what lifelong friends you can make by simply showing up to a meeting or two!

Nancy

Date night with a cute guy or a chemistry test to study for? Need I say anymore?! If you know that you have plans during the week, make sure to get your heavy assignments done with early so you do not have to scramble later!

Steve

Fraternity party > Studying. Sometimes you have to weigh out your options. Let’s be real here, will you remember going to a super lit college party with your friends or sitting at home studying for the hundredth Politics quiz? To keep your sanity, you have to let loose from time to time (within reason of course).

Jonathan

No matter how difficult our classes can be, we always have that one class we prefer over the other. One enjoyable aspect of college is the unique electives offered so definitely take advantage if you can! For Jonathan, photography would probably suffice.

Joyce

Sleep is for the weak… or so you tell yourself that so you can grind through yet another night of studying. However, when you start talking to the lights that is a sure sign to get some rest.

Chief Hopper

“Mornings are for coffee and contemplation.” Hopper, I couldn’t agree more! When you are swamped with “busy-work assignments” and deadlines on a Monday morning, it is best to ease into the day with a cup of coffee first. After all, you need an extra boost of caffeine to get your wheels turning.

On a scale of 1-10, you’re going to be an 11 if you take the advice of these Stranger Things characters once your final grades roll in. As far as too many waffles goes? Well, you can never have too many waffles! (Eleven approves of this message)
