Do you need some new songs to add to your yearly Christmas playlist? Here are some great tunes to jam out to while baking cookies, decorating the tree, or curling up in front of the fire with a cup of hot cocoa.

1. Christmas Wrapping – The Waitresses

This song is a fun one that always gets me in the mood for Christmas. Every year my family plays this as we are decorating the tree or baking cookies, and we always end up dancing around the room instead. You may hear this in loads of classic Christmas movies, but it is a great feel good song without a great film to accompany it.

2. The Christmas Riff-Off – Acoustikats

What is better than a bunch of Christmas songs all wrapped into one? This song is a fantastic mash-up of all your favorite Christmas songs in true a capella fashion. It provides all of the moods of Christmas, and really gets you in the festive mood. The harmonies and vocals throughout the song are tight and fun, and make it even more enjoyable!

3. Peppermint Winter – Owl City

Peppermint Winter is a whole lot of fun. If you have any siblings, this song may remind you of the days you used to go sledding in your backyard or slip running around on the ice. For me it always brings up the memory of bundling myself up and having a snowball fight with my best friend after spending hours in the snow building forts. It is a fun tune that will make you feel nostalgic and fall in love with the white winter season.

4. Do They Know It’s Christmas – Band Aid

For as long as I can remember, this has been my all time favorite Christmas song. The meaning of this song is much darker than most holiday tunes. Don’t let the happy rhythm and jingle of the song fool you, it provokes the thought of those around the world who may not know it’s Christmas. In Africa they are in the middle of summer, and when this song was written, the famine in Ethiopia was hitting hard. It brings to light those who are living in hunger and poverty during this wonderful time of the year, and reminds us to give to those less fortunate than us if we have the ability to.

5. Extraordinary Merry Christmas – Glee Cast

You may be thinking, a Glee song? Really? Well trust me, give this one a go! It is so upbeat and fun, and will get you feeling really jolly. I used to love Glee a few years back, but as I grew apart from it, I could never really let this song go once the Holiday season rolled around.

6. Where Are You Christmas – Pentatonix

Where Are You Christmas is painfully beautiful. Mitch in Pentatonix kills the vocals and brings an entirely new dimension to the song. This song will make you feel ALL the feels. Pentatonix never fails to come out with amazing Christmas tracks. This one is super fun and festive. They keep the traditional aspect of the song that everyone knows and loves, but adds on an amazing Pentatonix twist that makes it more modern, and even more beautiful.

7. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Sam Smith

Sam Smiths’ chilling vocals makes this song one that I often play on repeat. The song starts with only his pure vocals, and it grows in both beauty and texture. It stays fairly simple, and is a great tune to listen to with a cup of hot cocoa in front of a fire.

8. Christmas Letter – Willett

I came across this lovely song a few year back. It is heartbreakingly beautiful, and is about reflecting on lost love during the Christmas season. I find myself playing this on repeat to truly listen to the lyrics and feel the hope he has to fall in love again, and spend another Christmas with them.

9. That’s Christmas To Me – Pentatonix

Ever since this song came out it is always appears on my Christmas playlists. It has this nostalgic feel of Christmas, and reminds of the way I felt when I was a little kid and would wake up on Christmas morning to open gifts. This is another song that is great to listen to with a cup of hot cocoa and a warm fire, or while decorating the tree. It will give you ALL the feels, and beware, it may even bring tears to your eyes.

10. Maybe This Christmas – Shane Dawson

Many know Shane Dawson for his newer content, but a few years back he was known for his spoofs, parodies and music videos. If you want to cry, this music video will make you grab that tissue box. This is a beautiful song about a lost love, and the search for happiness during the holiday season. It is an upbeat song with heartbreaking lyrics that will make you feel both happy and sad at the same time. So sit back, grab those tissues and a cup of hot cocoa, and watch this beautiful video.
