Outfit Inspo For This Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

We all know this time of year can be filled with all sorts of parties and family gatherings, and one of the most difficult things can be figuring out what to wear. That is why I decided to compile some outfits for all different occasions to help you look cute and trendy while staying on a budget!

The Ugly Sweater Party

A very common theme for a holiday party is an ugly sweater party. They are easy and fun and one of my personal favorites. If you want to stick with that theme, but still look trendy, try dressing up your sweater with a black mini skirt and over the knee boots. These are such hot items right now that you can get them just about anywhere. As for finding an ugly sweater, I always go for thrifting. I really think you can find some of the most unique and “ugliest” sweaters that way. If you aren’t one for thrifting, however, places like Walmart or Target tend to have lots of options.

Chill Family Dinner

Maybe it’s Christmas Eve dinner or just a night you are having friends and family over for dinner that you still want to look nice, but also comfort is your top priority. Any outfit involving leggings is going to be your best bet for that sort of occasion. Throw on a basic t-shirt and a cute colorful cardigan and you have the perfect comfy but cute outfit.

Casual Holiday Party

This type of outfit is perfect for any holiday parties that are a bit more casual, but you still want to look cute should the potential photo op come up. One of my favorite clothing items that has come into trend recently is plaid trousers. They are super comfortable and easy to style but make an outfit look like you put a lot more effort into it than you did. There are all sorts of cuts and styles of these trousers to fit any body type or look you are going for, but here are a few of my favorite ways to style them.

Fancy Holiday Party

If you happen to be going to a much fancier holiday party, then these outfits may be the inspiration you are looking for. A great way to look super dressed up without having to worry about styling a whole outfit is to go for a jumpsuit. By just adding a pair of heels and some accessories, you have an entire look put together in no time. Here are some that I personally love.

New Year’s Eve Party

This special night is one full of glitz and glam and a perfect time to bring out some of your more flashy or extravagant outfits because it’s New Year’s Eve so why not? So, break out that sequin skirt, throw on a black leather jacket and some booties and you are set!

I hope these outfit ideas have inspired you to have a fashionable holiday season!
