My 5 Best Things to Look Forward to this Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacred Heart chapter.

As the holiday season rolls around, we all have different things we’re looking forward to. Whether it’s the end of the semester or all the holiday cookies, this is definitely the best time of the year. Here are some things I’m looking forward to this holiday season!

1. Not having to log onto Blackboard for a whole month

As the semester ends, we are left with no work or stress for a whole month, and are therefore able to take a break from Blackboard.

2. Being able to wake up with my dog in my bed

If you also have a dog (or cat), you’ll relate to this. Nothing’s better than sleeping in and waking up with your cuddly pet tucked in by your legs on a cold morning.

3. Two words: Christmas Cookies

My mom, sister and I always bake an abundance of Christmas cookies each year. From chocolate chip to sugar cookies and so much more, the smell of freshly baked dough in the kitchen is my favorite part of the season.

4. Decorating

While we did start decorating after Thanksgiving, I had to come back to school before the decorating was complete. Being able to walk into a fully decorated house after this long semester is the only thing keeping me going during finals. And don’t even get me started on the Christmas tree!

5. Being with family

Last but not least, being with my family. Because of everyone’s busy schedules between college and work, I haven’t seen some of my family since the summer. My favorite part of the holiday season has always been being able to relax and enjoy the presence of my crazy loud family.

Although these next two weeks are going to go by slowly, I at least know I have all these wonderful things waiting for me back home. I hope everyone can relate to this list and that everyone has a very happy holiday season!
