With the holiday season approaching, many of us start to find ourselves cultivating a collection of gifts. I love the holiday season and gift giving, but each year I find gift wrapping to be tedious. I’m prone to shoving gifts in colorful bags and drowning them in tissues paper. This year, however, I am determined to change my gift presentation for the better. I decided to craft my own wrapping paper, to add a personal touch and make my wrapping experience more entertaining. First I bought Kraft paper and paint, I rolled the Kraft paper out in order to flatten it. Then went on to pain the paper, starting with some simple brush stroke designs and later stamping on small Christmas trees.
I used some tiny decorative Christmas trees painted green and gently pressed down to make the second design, which admittedly turned out better than I had expected. Luckily I had a couple of presents ready to be wrapped, so I was able to test out my newly made wrapping paper.
Overall I think this DIY was very successful, it enabled me to have fun and be creative while wrapping my gifts and also added a very personal touch that I wouldn’t have been able to get from store-bought wrapping paper.
