Living on the East Coast has it perks sometimes; for one, it gets cold enough to have an outdoor skating rink. And best of all, during the wintertime, Boston Common is decked out in Christmas lights, making the view at the Boston Common Frog Pond absolutely stunning and festive at night. It’s the perfect place to take your friends, or a special someone, if you aren’t afraid of the cold. If you are looking for a quieter place, check out Steriti Memorial Rink, an indoor skating rink in the North End.

Everyone knows that Beacon Hill has the best Halloween décor in all of Boston. And during the holiday season, it is safe to say the little neighborhood on the top of the hill is feeling quite festive. Walking through Beacon Hill when there is snow everywhere feels like quite the magical experience. Just make sure you come prepared to enjoy the various sweet shops hidden on every corner.

Looking for some last minute gifts? Look no further, because the South Boston Holiday Market has over 120 different vendors, all featuring local artists and craft makers. It’s almost like Santa’s workshop, without having to travel to the North Pole!

A cold day calls for a nice warm cup of hot chocolate and there are plenty of options in Boston that will fulfill all your chocolatier dreams. Some of our favorite options are Max Brenner on Boylston, L.A. Burdick on Clarendon and the Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop at Faneuil Hall. If you stop by the latter option, be sure to visit the giant 60+ feet Christmas tree and catch BLINK!, the light and sound show.

Have fun exploring Boston during the winter holidays!
