Happy February everybody! I would like to welcome everybody to the best month of the year. Not only is it my birthday month, but it is the month of love (aka Valentine’s Day). For some, Valentine’s Day is a day of lovey-dovey hearts, romance, teddy bears, flowers, and chocolates. For others, it is a day they would like to pass by ever so quickly. But, it doesn’t have to be a sad, depressing day just because you don’t have a special someone.

I am single, and I have no problems with being single. On Valentine’s Day, I treat myself. Valentine’s Day can be a day for yourself, like having a you day. Buy yourself something pretty, get flowers, chocolates, get your favorite food, do whatever makes you happy. This day is not just for those that have a significant other to love; it is also for loving yourself.

It is 2019, and we are way past the point of needing anyone to make ourselves feel special because we can do that on our own. If you are into makeup, go to Sephora or Ulta and treat yourself to some new foundation, highlighter, lipstick, fragrance–anything your heart desires. If you are big on clothes, go to the mall and pick out somthing nice. I am going to buy myself some flowers and my favorite candy and probably watch some movies because that is just what I want to do.Remember this: Valentine’s Day is not just for couples. It is a day for everybody. If you are feeling down about not having a special someone, just know that you have not met the right person yet, and that is perfectly ok. Don’t dwell on why you are single. You are beautiful, kind, funny, smart, and all around a great person.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day, and do whatevery your heart desires, whether that be ordering a pizza and watching romcoms or having a shopping spree.

Happy February,

Nicole
