Pietro Nolita is a little over an hour from Manhattan College’s campus via the subway but worth the trip! It’s a hidden gem that has become quite popular on Instagram over the past year because of its millennial pink atmosphere. Its focus is healthy Italian Cuisine where you can indulge in anything from homemade pasta to salmon. (Personally, I always prefer pasta!) Following your meal, you can order gelato or head outside and take Instagram pictures galore. Don’t forget to leave a donation for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

An even more undiscovered gem in Greenwich Village is While We Were Young that I only found due to a publicized Too Faced launch party. With neon lights, pink velvet seats, and marble tables there is no excuse for not taking your next Instagram picture. While We Were Young welcomes walk-ins, but I would recommend a reservation due to limited seating so you can enjoy their healthy contemporary American cuisine worry-free. They have everything from Chicken & Kale Waffles to Cauliflower “tater tots.”

Want a taste of Disney World but on a college student budget? Alice’s Tea Cup is the spot for you with two locations in NYC: the Upper West Side and the Upper East Side. For my avid tea drinkers, they have a menu just for tea that can be savored along with a tower of baked goods. (My personal favorite is the Birthday Tea.)
