Valentine’s day is coming up fast and whether you are spending it with your significant other, best friends, family or alone I have curated some must watch movies that you cannot resist. These movies fit the theme of love! Whether that’s romantic, family oriented or that good self-loving.

First let’s start with the classics:

  • A Charlie Brown Valentine. I’m a sucker for some peanuts classics, they are too adorable. I must watch the Charlie Brown film that is appropriate for each season and honestly, this one might be my favorite. One year, my sister forgot to press record and I balled my eyes out until the very next V-day when she gifted it to me to make up for my sadness. Needless to say, do not forget about Charlie!
  • Love & Basketball. My best friend swoons over this movie constantly but I have to agree, its amazing. It’s about two friends that fall in love with basketball being the foundation of their friendship. Super cute, kind of sappy and a valentine’s must.
  • The Notebook. Need I say more? Ryan Gosling, I love you. Rachel McAdams, I love you. Nothing like some sappy dialogue, romantic kisses in the rain and the quote that stole everyone’s heart: “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.” The Nicholas Sparks novel turned movie classic that will always be at the top of your romantic movie lists.
  • Dirty Dancing. A young Patrick Swayze as a dance instructor for a sweet summer love story? I’m all in.
  • Grease. “Summer lovin,’ having a blas,t” too hard not to love this classic, based in the 50’s with a cute forbidden love between two high school sweethearts.

Not classics, but add these to your list! Kick back, pour a glass, devour all the chocolate and get cozy to enjoy:

  • Stuck in Love. My favorite movie! It tracks a family and all of their individual experiences with falling in and out of love. It will pull your heart strings, make you laugh, make you cry tears of joy and sadness. With a great cast and beautiful soundtrack, I guarantee this movie is something you need to watch.
  • Crazy, Stupid, Love. Steve Carell and Julianne Moore = my heart. Oh, and some more Ryan Gosling! Many more stars are featured in this film filled with love, laughter, heartbreaks and plot twists.
  • Valentine’s Day. Well duh, you have to watch this movie at this time of year! With a star studded cast, experiences that appeal to all ages, and even the anti-valentine’s being celebrated it’s a 10/10.
  • He’s Just Not That into You. I have a major love for this movie. Being a girl and all the struggles that come with dating, this movie truly speaks truth. I can watch this movie any day but I’ll consider this Valentine’s appropriate.
  • La La Land. This award winning film was super sweet. More Ryan Gosling (seems to be a theme?) and the talented Emma Stone. Star-crossed lovers trying to make it in L.A, with great music – super charming, heart warming film.

These are clearly just a few of my recommended films, for I am the ultimate chick-flick connoisseur. Happy Valentine’s Day and here’s to new films that will warm your heart.
