December 23, not even before Christmas nor New Year’s Eve, the Valentine’s Day cards have appeared on the racks in Target. According to Target, it is already too late for me to think about Valentine’s Day. Who am I to complain? My hopeless romantic teenage self inside is more than happy to use this excuse to make a list of my favorite Romantic Comedies. Enjoy.

1.Legally Blond

This 90’s classic has used stereotypes to illustrate a typical, yet uncommon story. “Bend and snap, works every time”.

2. Easy A

The 2010 movie starring Emma Stone has taken ideas from classic novel Scarlet Letter and presented a classic high school movie. It also touched base on some serious subjects worth discussing like religion, sexuality, and sex work.

3. 27 Dresses

I would personally like to take a moment for my all-time favorite. The movie has illustrated a story about how a “full-time” bridesmaid found her true love, and ended her bridesmaid’s career. Yes, it is cheesy and cliché AF, and that’s why we love it!

4.Valentine’s Day

The 2010 movie has all your Hollywood celebrities in it(well, a lot of them). With seemingly separated Valentine’s Day stories performed by 20 characters whose lives are interconnected, this movie has taken its place in the Rom-Com list.

5. Crazy, Stupid, Love

Similar to the interconnected story of Valentine’s Day, this 2011 movie has again presented a classic Rom-Com story focused on a middle aged husband trying to get his life together after his wife’s affair.

6. Devil Wears Prada https://gph.is/292ugTn

Starring Academy Awards winners, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Golden Globe Awards winner, Emily Blunt, this 2006 movie has become a classic. No more description needed, it is worth spending 2 hours of your life on even just for the acting.

7. Bridget Jones Diary https://gph.is/23VpvWL

Based on Helen Fielding’s 1996 novel, this 2001 film adaptation has attracted many fans over the years with it’s humor and highly relatable interpretation of single life.

8.Confession of A Shopaholic https://gph.is/1mdPtcO

“You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well, that’s what it’s like when I see a store. Only it’s better.”

This 2009 romantic comedy is based on the first two entries in the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella demonstrating a story of a journalist forced to choose between her shopping addiction and her loved ones.

9. Bride Wars https://gph.is/1t7sjzM

It could be a nightmare trying to plan out a wedding, especially if you are in a war with your best friend who is also doing the same. Although the 2009 film was not a wild sensation, the stories were adapted into versions in different countries

10.Just Like Heaven https://gph.is/1XYoFoW

Starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, this 2005 film presented a Rom-Com version of Ghost. Although the film is not as widely recognized, it has made my emotionally-unavailable ass believe in true love.

11.When In Rome https://gph.is/18LKHSC

Love can be a curse, literally. Despite the fact that the 2010 film only received 16% from Rotten Tomatoes, I still thought the film was a good laugh and a good popcorn Rom-Com to pass time.

12. Friends with Benefits https://gph.is/23gq7C5

We all know friends-with-benefits will goes wrong once emotions start to develop. But instead of going down to shit like it often does in real life, Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake have given us a Rom-Com example of how sweet it can be in this 2011 film.
