Where to Buy the Cutest Clothes for Mardi Gras

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

Mardi Gras shopping can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be if you know where to look. These seven sources are some of the best places to create the sickest outfits for everyone’s favorite holiday!

1. Forever 21

You might be able to find a few gems for your everyday wardrobe at Forever 21, but its true purpose in life is for Mardi Gras. There are tons of wacky, colorful options for a cheap price. They also  do plenty of cool collaborations, like their collections with NASA, Honda, Barbie, Juicy, and Looney Tunes.

2. Dolls Kill

The true home of rave clothing is Dolls Kill. This online store has endless options of crop tops, cargo pants, and one pieces. Dolls Kill recently did a collaboration with our favorite childhood store, Delia’s. While some of its pieces can be pricey, Dolls Kill is one of the best sources for Mardi costumes.

3. Amazon

Amazon always has your back when you need it. Amazon is the true global marketplace, with endless (often inexpensive) options to choose from. Keep in mind that your searches will have to be very specific, and not everything will be on prime from a reliable seller.

4. Local shops

One of the best parts of Nola is its love for a good costume shop. There are plenty of places on Magazine Street, such as Buffalo Exchange and Funky Monkey, and in the French Quarter that sell vintage and new pieces for Mardi Gras.

5. Fashion Nova

Everyone’s favorite fast fashion/copycat brand is a gold mine of Mardi costumes. From funky silhouettes to bright colors, Fashion Nova has lots of pieces to choose from. It also has lots of flash sales, so be on the lookout.

6. Redbubble

Redbubble is a platform where artists can sell their work on anything, from pillows to leggings. Redbubble sells perfect Mardi Gras leggings with every. Single. Design. Imaginable. It also sells t-shirts with fun sayings. The best part is that Redbubble directly supports small artists.

7. Tipsy Elves

Tipsy Elves can serve all of your Tequila Sunrise needs with the coziest onesies. From patterned options to animal options, there is truly a onesie for everyone. It also sells t-shirts with cute phrases!
