I recently binged wathed the show Russia Doll. It began on a Monday I had many things to do, but I didn’t have the strength to do them. So instead of being a productive member of society I went on Netflix. Scrolling through the shows, I knew I had to carefully pick what show to watch because if I picked a really long show to get into my entire life would fall apart. I needed a show that was four seasons or less and a max of 13 episodes per season. What I needed was a quick binge. A binge that only took half of a day and didn’t cause me to put my life on hold completley. The follwing is a list of shows that allow you to get your quick binge on.

Russian Doll

This show is so unique and amazing. It stars Natasha Lyonne, who is the perfect dark comedic actor. A women in New York City dies on her birthday and gets caught in a loop where when she dies she has to keep reliving the same night. It’s a great dark comedy that makes us think about how the events in our lives shape us into the people we become. (8 episodes)

Black Mirror

What’s great about watching Black Mirror is that each episode is it’s own story, so there is no need to watch in order. You can skip around each season and pick one at random (don’t start with the first episode). I promise this will be one of the most interesting shows you ever watch. It is a show about technology in the future and how it shapes the world for either better or worse. It’s like a modern day Twilight Zone and it’s brillant. ( 4 seasons, 19 episodes)

Mind Hunter

I watch a lot of T.V., but this is my number one favorite show. It’s based off true events, which is insane. If you like serial killers you will be hooked. Mind Hunter follws FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench as they try to better understand the minds of serial killers. As they interview them they try to develop techniques to profile serial killers and how handle this kind of criminal. Fun fact they invent the term serial killer. (10 episodes)

Dear White People

I’m obessed with this show, and it does not get the respect it deserves. Everyone should be watching it! It is witty and complex with amazing characters. It takes place at a mostly white Ivy League school and focuses on the African American students who are studying there. The show brings light to the isssue that racism is alive and well in American today, and how this group of students is trying to combat this reality. It also shows the audience that white people need to acknowledge their white priveldge and not hinder the fight agaisnt racism. (2 seasons, 20 episodes)

Derry Girls

This show is hands down one of the funniest shows out right now. My father who hates basically all T.V. willing wathced this with me and enjoyed it. It follows a group of 16-year-old girls in the 1990s in Northern Ireland where there is British army check point and IRA. We get to see how the girls go about life and the shennigans they fall into along the way. ( 6 episodes)
