What’s better than “kiss me, I’m Irish” shirts on 17 March? Well, Ireland itself, of course! Ireland is such a beautiful country and it deserves to be on your bucket list.
Whether you participate in the Ezra crowds or hide away watching Netflix, let St. Patrick’s Day be the inspiration for your next trip over the pond.
Dublin
What list on Ireland would be complete without Dublin? It’s accessible (and cheap to get to) from most European airports, and it’s jam-packed with history. I certainly want to go to Trinity College, and my boyfriend would love to go on a Guinness tour!
Belfast
Have you seen pictures of the architecture in Belfast? That looks like it’s worth the trip alone! Highlights include Belfast Castle, Titanic Belfast, and St. George’s Market.
Cliffs of Moher
Views for days, and Instagram likes galore. These cliffs are one of the most beautiful places in the world, and it’s no real wonder why so many tourists flock there for a cheeky pic.
Cushendun Caves, County Antrim
We’re heading up to Northern Ireland for this one. If you haven’t had enough of gorgeous views, or maybe you’re just done with tourists, pop over to Cushendun Caves. It’s a filming location for Game of Thrones too, so if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me!
Limerick
Not far from the Cliffs of Moher, our former co-president at HCWLU went on exchange to the University of Limerick and loved it! Check out King John’s Castle and the cathedrals while you’re there!
Cork
This will be even better than popping corks on Ezra, I promise. Head to the Blackrock Castle Observatory for something different, or check out the castle and cathedral!
Killarney National Park
If you want to get out of the city, this is the place to do it. Water? Check. Mountains? Double check. The envy of your friends? Absolutely.
Happy travelling, Hawks!
