Long distance friendships are the best types of friendships in my opinion. Personally they are the strongest form of friendships to me. I have four best friends that mean the absolute world to me. I remember coming to college I was so afraid of losing them and having to endure the slow drift that everyone warns incoming freshman’s about. But two years into college and being twelve hours away from each other, I would say my bond with them has only gotten stronger. Distance was not an obstacle, nor was it a barrier. I am a better friend and person because of it.
Long distance friendships created new experiences to talk about. Being twelve hours away and being in a whole different part of Texas that is not familiar to home definitely was new to my eyes. My best friends love hearing all my stories. Like how the weather up here is completely different, the boys, the people, college, and my own personal growth in a different place.
Long distance friendships assures you that the friendship is true and genuine opposed from a friendship that is just convenient. Being able to be with your best friends every day is awesome, but when you are away from each other you get to see who sticks around and whole doesn’t. I learned that my best friends were always going to be there for me whenever they could, as I for them. I have best friends that I know I can always count on no matter what, call whenever and always support me!Every time we link up again, our bond is stronger, our talks are longer and our connections are deeper. I wouldn’t trade my best friends for anyone or anything. I was one of the lucky ones to keep my best friends even after high school. They are my forever friends and I can’t wait to see what the future has in-store for my friends and I!
