If you’re a huge music festival enthusiast (or a music lover in general) and have been anticipating to go to Osheaga this summer, the FULL line-up of artists is now available. Whether you were making personal predictions based on other music festival line-ups (i.e., Lollapalooza), or rigorously scrolling through Reddit for others’ predictions, your impatience can now be put to rest.
Aside from the line-up announcement, Osheaga has also informed us that this year will be their “Homecoming Edition,” with the festival returning to its original site on Île-Ste-Hélène after two summers on Île-Notre-Dame while undergoing major renovations. The refreshed site in Parc Jean-Drapeau is said to be more spacious and comfortable for incoming festival-goers, with the return of the iconic side-by-side main stages that features a picturesque view of the Montreal skyline.
Now, in terms of the music, the line-up this year features a medley of artists from a variety of genres. Particular favourites appearing of the line-up this year include The Lumineers, Flume, Sharon Van Etten, Logic, City and Colour, Tame Impala, Hozier, Mac DeMarco, and of course, Childish Gambino.
Other artists who may not be as popular, but I am subjectively excited for include Francis and the Lights, Beach House, Young the Giant, Kaytranada, Sigrid, Boy Pablo, and Real Estate.
This very recent release has come with some mixed emotions. Many are comparing this year’s line-up with last year’s. Others are ecstatic with the names that appear on the famously viewed line-up poster. Music taste is subjective and will most likely not appease everyone’s particular taste. Nonetheless, take a look through the line-up (see just below) and plan a fun weekend with your friends for the August long weekend!
