One of the worst things to wake up to is a bad hair day. Maybe your mane is bumpy, frizzy, or overall just not cooperating. In my experience with bad hair days, I’ve picked up a few tips and tips to make them more manageable.

Here are some secrets to making flat and sad-looking hair seem fresh, bouncy, and styled straight out of the salon. I promise these secrets will be worth keeping.

Dry Shampoo is Your Best Friend

Many people think that dry shampoo is only for dirty hair. But, contrary to popular belief, it works fabulously on clean hair too. It gives you all the volume you could ever want in your roots. Spray some after blow-drying your hair for some perfect, tousled volume. Or, spray some before tying your hair in a messy bun for a voluminous and effortless look.

Use the Right Hair Products

Using the right shampoo and conditioner is half of the formula. The key is to not use hair products that will weigh down your hair. Some shampoos are made with particular purposes such as volume, strength, and curls. My hair-washing trick is to only use a little bit of conditioner to ensure that my hair isn’t weighed down by any excess product.

Blow-dry Hair Upside Down

When blowing out your hair, the key is to style it in multiple directions. When blowing out each piece, blow it out in several directions. When you are nearly done, flip your head upside down and blow-dry your hair downwards. It practically looks like you just walked out of the salon!

Sleep With Your Hair Up

Tie your hair up in a bun or ponytail before you go to bed. This will leave you with voluminous, sometimes wavy hair in the morning. Using a soft hair tie, I put my hair in a high bun to avoid creases.

Change Your Part Often

To avoid flat hair, one of the most important tricks is to avoid parting your hair the same way. After washing your hair, brush it and switch up the part. This will leave it looking more voluminous and healthy!

With these tricks you’ll have practically no bad hair days!
