Just a couple of weeks ago, my club, the Psychology Club, hosted an event on campus called Carrers in Psychology. The event was to not only promote the club and the Social and Behavoral Science and Human Rescources department, but also to put more emphasis of what one can do as a career once exiting college.

Helping Individuals Live Long (HILL) Peer Support Specialist

This position requires a High School degree or equivalent; Bachelors is preferred. The candidate must have a Certification as a Recovery Peer Specialist by the Sate f Florida, or be in the process of obtaining this certification. A certified Recovery Peer Specialist is a person who uses life experiences to assist others to achieve and maintain recovery from substance use and / or mental health conditions, and assists with navigating the integrated health care system. To qualify for Certification, the person must have experience as a recipient of behavioral health services, and have 40 hours of training in Advocacy, Mentoring, Recovery Support, and Professional Responsibility. A valid Florida’s driver’s license and auto insurance coverage of $50,000/$100,000/$50,000 are required.

Adult Case Manager – PATH

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field. The candidate must have a minimun of one year experience working with adults in the mental health field as well as knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment, and community resources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. A valid Florida driver’s license and auto insurance coverage of $50,000/$100,000/$50,000 are required.

Clinical Supervisor

This position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or a related field. Candidate is required to be licensed in the Sate of Florida (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT). Candidate is required to have minimum of two (2) years experience working with children and families. One year of substance abuse experience is required. One year of supervisory experience is preferred. Experience with computer technology (using a computer and PC software activities; Windows based programs, email, especially Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding skills, MFP) and other offce tools efficiently in order to meet performance goals necessary to the position. Valid Florida driver’s license and auto insurance coverage of $50,000/$100,000/$50,000 are required.
