As K-pop has made waves into most parts of the world, there is still a lot of different Asian music to check out. One country to look into is China, which is the neighboring country to South Korea. With K-pop groups including Chinese members and marketing to China’s audience, it has helped bring some attention to Chinese artists and music. Here are seven songs you should add to your playlist.

1. “Thousand Years of Snow” by Feng Ming Jiong Jun

I love how this song starts with traditional Chinese instruments. The singer of the song has a beautiful voice that makes the music soothing. It’s a good song to listen to when you want to study or relax.

2. “Love has Ended” by Cui Zige

This is my all-time favorite Chinese song because it is very moving. This song was part of a Chinese drama called “A King’s Woman.” If you need a song that will give you a good cry then this song is perfect for you.

3. “Leave Me Alone” by Hebe Tien

Hebe Tien is a Taiwanese singer who debuted with S.H.E, a Taiwanese girl group. She released a solo album called “To Hebe,” which features the song “Leave Me Alone.” If you are into ballads, this would be a good song for you to listen to.

4. “Okay” by Jackson Wang

Jackson Wang is part of the South Korean boy group, GOT7. He has been working on a solo album and making solo appearances. In this song, he raps in both English and Chinese to a mellow trap beat. Recently, he has also worked with Gucci Mane.

5. “Lose Control” by Lay Zhang

Chinese singer and songwriter, Lay Zhang, debuted with South Korean pop band, EXO. He is the last remaining Chinese member of the South Korean group. Lay released his solo album in 2016 and has been doing well in China. Recently, he released new music with Jason Derulo and NCT 127, which is bringing him more attention internationally.

6. “November Rain” by Kris Wu

Kris Wu previously was a part of EXO but left after two years. He released his solo album last year, and it received a lot of attention, topping the U.S. iTunes charts and knocking out Ariana Grande’s single. His solo album includes “November Rain” in the track. The song gives off a hip hop and urban style.

7. “Light Years Away” by G.E.M

When I first listened to this song, I couldn’t shake off how beautiful her voice sounded. I was memorized by her voice and the feeling of the music. This song was the Chinese theme song for the Hollywood movie, “Passengers.”
