The Best Book to Snuggle With This Weekend: April Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

Spring is (basically) here, and while there are some days that are beautiful, there are also others when you just want to cuddle up with a good book. Here is a suggestion for what book to cuddle up with: When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi.

For those of you who want a real tear-jerker, this book embodies spring and the idea of renewal. This novel is written by Dr. Kilanthi, and is a memoir of his life, and in particular, his battle with cancer while going through his residency and fellowship. It is a truly remarkable detail of how strong the human spirit is and how ironic life can be at some points. It also includes a section written by his wife, and gives perspective on how his illness affected their relationship and child. It is a quick read, both because it is short in length and so riveting that it keeps you turning the pages. Definitely have some tissues handy, as it is a true tear-jerker, and have a pen and paper in hand to write down some noteworthy quotes.

Happy reading!
