Living with other people is hard enough as it is, but when a relationship with a friend or roommate goes south, it can also start to affect your school work and other happenings in life. It’s important to take the necessary steps in order to deal with it so that the negative doesn’t take over your life.

  1. Find time outside of your room to avoid conflict. Pick up a new hobby, go to the gym and hang out with friends.

  2. Get some headspace. Download the “Headspace app,” try meditation, go for a walk, etc. Take whatever you need to clear your head, get some fresh air and think.

  3. Make the space in your room more comfortable. Treat yourself to a new blanket, noise-cancelling headphones or an oil diffuser to relieve stress.

  4. Create a Spotify playlist. Spotify has a lot of curated playlists like de-stressing, calming, happiness and much more. Sometimes it’s even more fun to create your own, full of songs like uplift you.

  5. Talk to someone. Building up aggression in your head isn’t good for your mental health. Find a friend or another trustworthy person who you can vent to and talk through your feelings with.
