9 Self-Care Tips To Get You Through Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gustavus chapter.

The stressful finals week is officially upon us. The late nights of studying for exams and finishing up those final papers have begun. While you are being studious don’t forget to take a little time for yourself. Taking time during your day (or night) to practice self-care can truly help get you through this stressful week. Here are 9 easy self-care tips to help get you through.

  1. Take a study break. Take a short break and let your mind wander and focus on something else for a bit.

  2. Do a face mask. Nothing is more calming than a great facemask.

  3. Do a 10-minute meditation. “Headspace” is a great meditation app that you can download right onto your phone. It is super easy to use and the  lessons are short, but effective.

  4. Eat a healthy breakfast each morning. Nourish your mind along with your body.

  5. Do a quick workout. Even if you just do a few stretches on your dorm room floor, stretching out your muscles can go a long way.

  6. Get some fresh air. Go take a walk outside or even grab your books and study outside. Get out of that stuffy dorm room for a bit, your body will thank you.

  7. Listen to some music. If you feel the need to chill turn on some relaxing tunes. If you are feeling a bit “blah” blast that happy playlist.

  8. Get a good night sleep. Not only will you feel more refreshed, but studies have shown that you will do better on your exams.

  9. Spend some time with your friends. Encourage your friends to take a little break from their studying too even if it’s just for a half hour to go grab some ice cream.

You got this! Good luck on your finals!
