Last week we had the annual ASUO Street fair. The event is put on by Kacie Van Stiphout, and Kylie MacDonald members of the ASUO. I volunteer each year and love seeing how hard these ladies work to put this event together. The event is a great way to bring outside food and companies into the community. When going to the street fair I love seeing the community come together. I talked to the vendor and they stated that this is a great way to get their businesses out there. It was an extremely sunny day, so the people were out. For the three days, the lines were long but worth it.

Vendors were happy that the sun was out because they knew that would bring in more business. What I love about the street fair is that I feel like it brings the community together. I get to interact with vendors from all over the Eugene area. It is a great way to branch out and try new foods. What is also cool about the UO Street fair is that it is now just food vendors, but clothing and other items. Since it is usually in the middle of the term, it happens to be after midterms for most people. A great way to stress relief or refocus. I personally love all the different foods, such as crepes and elephant ears. Side note, if you volunteer at the ASUO Street fair you get a free elephant ear.

I love coming back from class after a long day, getting a bite to eat with my friends, and sitting on the grass people watching. I think that the street fair is something that all students look forward to each year. Kylie and Kacie two ladies who put on this event spend months preparing. They call and arrange all the vendors, and map out how exactly each vendor is going to fit due to the size of each vendors stations. As well as promote the event and get people to volunteer their time. A lot of time and hard work is put into this event each year and I am thankful for Kacye and Kylie for all that they do. If you have never been to the street fair be sure to check it out next fall.
