With the new school year comes fresh and exciting opportunities! We here at Her Campus want to invite you to our platform and our team – whether you’re a reader or prospective team member. As the heads of Loyola’s chapter, our Campus Correspondents, Diana Raspanti and Shelby Kluver, would like to extend a warm welcome to all Ramblers and look forward to another fantastic and fabulous year together!

Who are we?

Diana: Hi everyone! I’m a senior at Loyola University Chicago studying Creative Advertising with a minor in Visual Communication. I’m originally from a small suburb right outside of Chicago, but I’ve been coming to the city for my whole life. I’ve always dreamt of going to school in the city, so choosing Loyola was the perfect fit. I’m a horror movie fanatic, a self-proclaimed make-up guru, and I’m so excited to be CC’s this year with the lovely Shelby <3

Shelby: Hello! I am also a senior at Loyola, and I study Multimedia Journalism with minors in Anthropology, Political Science, and Asian Studies. I grew up in a small town in South Dakota but have loved making Chicago my home the past three years. Making the switch from gravel roads to the redline was a big step, but one that I couldn’t be more thankful for. I have a passion for travel, languages, and cooking (and would love to chat about all three for hours). This year, as Diana and I step up as Campus Correspondents of Loyola’s Her Campus chapter, we’re both determined to continue bringing the empowering, informative, and interesting content that Her Campus is known for!

How did we get involved?

Diana: One of my friends has been a member of Her Campus since her freshman year, and she had nothing but amazing things to say about the women involved. I finally accompanied her to a meeting at the beginning of our junior year, and I fell in love with the strong bond that all the ladies had with each other. The freedom that each writer has was super attractive to me, so I joined on the spot.

Shelby: I’ve been a writer for Her Campus since my sophomore year. Since then, life has taken me around Chicago and on two study abroad semesters. Through it all, Her Campus has given me a platform to write about the issues that I care about, all while providing support, encouragement, and (as cheesy as it sounds) friendship. It’s also extremely student run at the chapter level, so you get the benefits of taking charge and making something your own, while also having the support of a vast national network.

Why should you join HCLUC?

We’re both so passionate about our chapter here at Loyola, and there are so many exciting things that we want to implement during our time as CC’s. First, Her Campus is a home for all and our chapter is open to anyone who wishes to join. This includes all gender identifications and you don’t need to be a woman to join us! We want to provide a welcoming community that uplifts and supports each other – both in meetings and in passing.

We are also expanding the roles you can have as a member of our chapter. Our work goes far beyond writing and we are looking for photographers, videographers, podcasters, music lovers, graphic designers, and writers to come and join our team! And if you’re looking for experience handling social media, we’re looking to put together a whole squad of social media gurus to run our pages.

Throughout the year members are also invited to several fun events and given plenty of spectacular goodies!

How can you get invovled?

Her Campus is the number one online media source for collegiate women and we are so proud to be a part of that! Our articles range from fun movie lists to provoking interviews. There’s not only something for everyone to enjoy, but also a space for anyone who wants to create with us.

We have regular team meetings that we encourage anyone to drop into. Be sure to check out our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with meeting dates and all things HCLUC

For more information on joining Her Campus, or if you’d like to chat with us, our email is  luc@hercampus.com.
