Going back to school is rarely a fun thought, but putting together outfits for classes makes it a little better. With all the new trends for the season emerging, it can be a bit exciting. Colors for the season are mostly bold colors, bright reds and royal blues, as well as lilac purple, which is taking over as the new millennial pink. To help with choosing your new back to school wardrobe, I have compiled a list of garments and accessories that can help you be trendy and make your outfits more put together.

Totes

Regular backpacks are the no-brainer for most students, but if you are looking for a classier, more adult way to transfer your supplies to and from class, invest in a tote bag. They’re stylish, come in a variety of designs and sizes and elevate your life.

Socks and Loafers

Socks and loafers are a surprising combination until you see the looks that they are being paired with. Pairing socks and loafers are an easy way to step a casual outfit up, especially when paired with some of the other trends further into this article.

Cropped Jackets

Jackets are essential for college life. It may be 90 degrees outside, but inside of lecture halls, it can feel like the middle of December. Cropped jackets are in vogue for the season, especially in olive green or denim. Cropped jackets are versatile and go with almost any outfit, even with leggings and sneakers. Cropped jackets also make any outfit look more put together than an oversized hoodie thrown over leggings.

Glasses

Whether you need them or not, glasses are coming back into fashion. When paired with turtlenecks, the look turns into a preppy-chic outfit that is sure to impress your new professors. Glasses are a quick and easy accessory to add to an outfit when rushing to class in the morning.

Chunky, Oversized Sweaters

Knitwear is going to be huge for this season, but oversized turtlenecks are perfect for college life. They are comfortable and they layer well with leggings and long coats making it the perfect top for the fall.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings are by no means an everyday look, but if you are looking for a way to dress up your everyday jeans and t-shirt combo without too much effort, look no further. Bold earrings are easy to throw own with a typically plain outfit and add a bit of interest.

Sleek Satin with Sweaters

Satin slip dresses have been trending since the Spring, but even though they are lightweight doesn’t mean they can’t be suitable for the cooler months. Since they are typically a sheer material, they are the perfect garment for layering under sweaters for an easy outfit.
