As August comes to an end and September approaches, summer has yet again flown by. Back to school shopping is in full effect, school buses are slowing down the streets, and those in college are packing up to leave. It is always a bittersweet time when the summer is over, especially for college students. No more late careless nights, no more long endless beach days, no more crazy last minute plans, and no more seeing your family and hometown friends on the daily. For those in college, and even grade school, it is time to get back to a routine, having responsibilities, and being on your A game. It is time for hard work, dedication, and time management.

Though going back to school comes with a lot more responsibilities than most people’s summer vacations, there is also an upside to being back to school. After three whole months, you finally get to be reunited with your people, your college friends. The friends that you spent every waking day with and every good and bad moment, the friends that will probably stick with you forever. You get to get back into your school spirit, getting involved in clubs or back to your campus job. You get to be back to your second home that you more than likely missed very much over the summer.

As this 2019 school year begins for each and everyone of you, I hope you greet it with open arms. I hope you take in all the things you learned from last year, and grow from them, allowing yourself to learn from any mistakes and move forward. I hope you meet new people, make new memories, and be as open minded as possible. Though we will be working hard, don’t forget to relax and have some fun every once in awhile. These are supposed to be some of the greatest times of our lives, so let’s make em count!
