As the leaves are starting to change, it’s time to switch out all of the summer shorts stuffed in your drawer! In college, chilly walks to class make it difficult to come up with a good outfit on the spot. These top 5 items are beneficial to helping piece together your perfect fall outfit.

Oversized sweaters

In a rush to go to class? Oversized sweaters are a great way to bundle up while staying trendy! Just throw one on with a pair of jeans or leggings and you’re good to go.

Scarves

Scarves are a perfect way to add a cute accent to an outfit! You can choose from all different colors to mix and match your styles. Unfortunately, I only have a black scarf, so I should probably start listening to my own advice.

Plaid

Plaid is the perfect pattern for fall, bringing in a classy look by incorporating it in pants, a shirt, or even a plaid scarf! There are many stores, such as American Eagle, Garage, and Hollister selling plaid pants. You can’t go wrong with the simple fall design.

Peacoats

Peacoats are wonderful! This cinched and layered style of coat will make you want to sit on a bench, looking at the seasons change while drinking a pumpkin spiced latte. You can find them at just about any clothing store.

Boots

To top off a look, you have to have the right shoes. The best way to pull a fall outfit together is to have boots, whether it be knee high or ankle. Boots will give the look the perfect amount of warmth, showing the discreet transition to winter.
