As a child born in the year 2000, I am part of what some may call the “Limbo” generation. This is the generation where we don’t know whether to identify ourselves as Millennials or part of Generation Z because the 90s kids don’t accept us, yet we still don’t fit in with the tide pod eaters either. The only thing we have going for us is that we had the opportunity to enjoy the old and new Disney Channel. That’s right; we were the last to enjoy shows like Phil of the Future and we witnessed the Austin and Ally era too. So the recent Disney Channel spinoffs and adaptations of the classic shows hit us hard in the gut with nostalgia. The only problem is that the new Disney doesn’t always do the original justice. Here are some new Disney projects you should check out for yourself to see whether or not they were a hit or miss.

Girl Meets World (Boy Meets World)

This show revolves around Cory and Topanga Matthews’ twelve-year-old daughter, Riley, as she establishes her place in the world along with her best friend, Maya. The show not only revolves around growing up in today’s world but also around learning important life lessons, usually through Riley’s father, who also happens to be her teacher.

Kim Possible (2019 movie)

In this version, Kim and Ron enter their first year in high school and meet a new girl named Athena, who soon takes a liking to their team. After taking the new student under her wing, Kim begins to feel overshadowed by the new crimefighter. Meanwhile, Shego and Dr. Drakken are once again hatching a secret plan to take over the world and finally destroy Kim Possible.

Raven’s Home (That’s So Raven)

Because one psychic wasn’t enough, this spinoff is split between two intertwined storylines. This time, we not only get to see Raven’s crazy premonitions but her children’s too, making it double the chaos. It’s even more chaotic since these visions usually collide, leading everyone on a wild goose chase. Watch as Raven, along with her best friend Chelsea, conquer life while multitasking as single moms in a house full of crazy kids.

*COMING SOON* The Lizzie McGuire Reboot

Considering we just got the news, there is very little we can say about the infamous reboot, which will air exclusively on the new Disney streaming app. All we know is that according to Hillary Duff, “She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now.” And that’s all we reason we need to look forward to this new reboot.
